About Tonto
Located in the northeast valley bordering the Tonto National Forest, this custom golf community is just 10 minutes east of Troon North or North of Fountain Hills.
We enjoy the serenity and beauty of the desert setting, yet we are close enough to enjoy the hub-bub of Scottsdale shopping, dining or theater with just a 25 minute scenic drives.
It’s the people!
Yes we have 2 fantastic golf courses, a gorgeous Santa Fe style clubhouse that was voted #1 by Golf, Inc. Magazine in 2011, and a pool, spa and fitness center complete with topnotch equipment! But what you can’t see is the sense of community at Tonto Verde that is like no other place. It all starts with the people who live and work at Tonto. They are genuinely thrilled to be here and that makes all the difference. We are proud of our community and we feel that every day is like a vacation day. Not just because it is a 55+ adult community, but because we are surrounded by people who have the same values and the same devotion to making every day a positive experience.
Hi Neighbor!
As you walk or drive the streets of Tonto, you can’t help but feel the warmth of the neighbors with frequent waves and big smiles which convey the welcoming glow that comes so naturally to the Tonto residents.
We all help!
Much of the work that is done on the numerous committees at Tonto is handled by volunteers in the community who all want to give back. Each professional in their own field finds a way to participant in something that stirs their passion. Part of the reason that our community is debt-free is that our Board of Directors has taken an active role in soliciting the help from Tonto residents to work on individual areas such as course and area beautification, the transition committee, communication, marketing, and food and beverage.
In addition to the daily management, many volunteers find time to run a tournament or organize a charity event at Tonto. Our events are so well attended that wait lists are a common occurrence. Last year our Rally for the Cure event for Susan G. Koman received national recognition for raising the most money for a private club.
Someone to lean on.
Though we have all chosen to live at Tonto, 70% of the residents own a second home. This means that often times, family may reside in other parts of the country. As a result, we do become each other’s extended family. When help is needed in a household, the spirit of generosity at Tonto grows like wildfire. In other words, we have an amazing network of communication and a willingness to be there for each other that is second to none.
