The Peaks Course, the first of two golf courses located in Tonto Verde, comprises 18 holes of spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, mainly the Mazatzal Mountains, which include the signature Four Peaks. Thus the name. The course was opened in 1993, prior to the construction of homes or a clubhouse. The designers selected by the Developer were Gary Panks and David Graham. Panks is a landscape architect with a passion for golf and, over the years has combined his design skill with his love of golf to produce some of the nation’s finest courses. Graham, a highly successful Australian PGA tour professional, has teamed with Panks to design many highly rated golf courses in the country.
The Peaks is considered a friendly course off the tee, and challenging around the green. A combination of well placed bunkers and desert areas create a wonderful and friendly 18 holes of golf.
