With two distinctly different and challenging 18-hole championship golf courses, Tonto Verde is a desert gem with national recognition for its charm and playability.
The beauty of the area begins with its magnificent setting and spectacular golf but the true beauty comes from the people and the amazing sense of community. Tonto Verde is, quite simply, a place like no other.
With 36 holes of spectacular golf; Tonto Verde is an exceptional value among comparable, high quality golf clubs in the area. Tonto members also enjoy the ability to use their personal golf cart without an additional trail fee. This makes playing golf at a moment’s notice even more enticing plus it makes traveling around the community economical and gives you the feeling of being on vacation.
Peaks Course
Designed by David Graham and Gary Panks, the Peaks Course, with 6,737 yards, showcases panoramic mountain views with Four Peaks in the distance. It will challenge any golfer with its tight fairways, desert transitions and contoured greens with subtle breaks.
Ranch Course
Designed by Gary Panks, the Ranch Course stretches out to 6,988 yards and has hosted a number of professional and amateur events since opening for play in 2002. Wider fairways and landing areas will take on the big hitters while challenging your short game with large, well-bunkered and sloping greens.
Personal Golf Carts
The ability to use your own golf cart is a key point of difference between Tonto Verde and other communities. There is no trail fee for this wonderful convenience. At a moment’s notice you can be ready for golf with your golf clubs and all of your own personal favorites already loaded on your cart. Whether you are heading to golf, the fitness center, the pool, to the clubhouse for dinner or to a friend’s house for a social gathering, it’s a fun and economical way to travel within the community.
Tee Times
Making tee times at Tonto Verde is a breeze. We use the on-line ForeTees system that allows you to make tee times using your home computer up to a week in advance. Simply log on, choose a time, select your players and “submit”…your tee time is made. ForeTees allows you to browse to see who’s playing at any given time and jump on with another group or even another couple. ForeTees also allows you to sign up for special events, leagues, find information on what’s happening within the golf club, check weather and monitor any special playing conditions for the day. Making tee times and keeping abreast of what’s happening couldn’t be easier
Groups/Traveling Teams
At Tonto Verde it’s easy to fit right into the golf life! Whatever your skill level there’s leagues and golfing opportunities that fit everyone’s comfort level. There’s never a lack of golf activities at Tonto Verde. Participation in leagues is very strong with men’s leagues having 315 members, women’s 18-hole league having 150+ members and the 9-hole league having 150+ members. There’s never a shortage of games or people to play with…you can have a game every day of the week if that’s your pleasure.
Men's Golf Leagues
Men’s golf league plays on Wednesdays. All other days there are informally organized men’s golf groups and games. These groups are happy to embrace any new member. It’s a great way to get to know other golfing members quickly.
Women's Golf Leagues
There is both an 18-hole league and a 9-hole league for women. Both leagues play on Tuesday and Thursdays. Tuesday is a shotgun with specific games and pairings are done by the pro-shop. Thursdays are tee times. You Here you can form your own foursome or sign up with another group. There are usually no set games on Thursdays... it’s just fun, casual golf.
Tonto Verde also has a very active traveling league program for women. There are three 18-hole traveling teams and a 9-hole traveling team. The leagues provide an opportunity to play many courses throughout the valley.
Couples Events
Tonto Verde has a very active couples’ golf organization that puts together golfing events for you and your spouse that accommodates all levels of competition. 18-hole events are varied but usually you can sign up with another couple or let the Pro-shop pair you with another couple. These events usually feature afternoon golf followed by a dinner. They are a ton of fun and they create a great opportunity to get to know other golfing couples.
In addition to the 18-hold events, there is a couples’ 9-hole event most Friday afternoons followed by a dinner if you choose. This is also a great way to get to know your neighbors and other golfing couples.
